Christ on Campus

As the cornerstone of Timberlane’s “20/20 Vision”, in partnership with willing congregations in Tallahassee and around the State of Florida, we will build and operate Christ On Campus, a new conveniently-located Student Center serving the combined 65,000 students of Florida State University (FSU), Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Tallahassee Community College (TCC).

Christ On Campus will be the home of three new student service organizations to facilitate outreach and activities on each of these campuses:

serves the students and community of Tallahassee Community College

serves the students and community of Florida State University

serves the students and community of Florida A&M University

Timberlane will also partner with Adventures In Missions (AIM), a ministry of Sunset International Bible Institute (SIBI), currently training and producing young missionaries for two-year mission posting around the globe. We will provide scholarships to 2 new AIMers each year (an ultimate total of 8) who will be enrolled at one of the 3 schools and will evangelize these campuses, working out of the Student Center.

Christ on campus Student center

Christ on Campus will be under the oversight of the Timberlane Eldership. A Student Center Director will be employed and will be accountable to our elders.

Board of directors

We will create a Christ on Campus Board of Directors comprised of selected members from supporting congregations around the state.

a campus leader

All area congregations are welcome to send their own campus ministers, preachers, elders, deacons, ministry leaders, parents and interested brethren to help in the function and ministry to these students. Timberlane’s vision is for this ministry to complement and supplement the college-age ministries of the churches of Christ in Tallahassee.

campus representation

Necessarily, each organization will have officers who are enrolled at each school. These will be chosen by the students and will be accountable to the Christ on Campus Director, the Christ on Campus Board of Directors, and to the Timberlane Eldership.

How You Can Help

We will be crisscrossing the state seeking support from congregations and informing parents, students and youth ministers of this ministry.

Informationally, we need:
  • Contact information for any students currently attending FSU, TCC or FAMU who are members of the Lord’s church.

  • We desire to contact any elderships, parents and/or youth ministers associated with currently enrolled AND those who will enroll in the future.
Financially, we need:
  • Capital funds to acquire adequate facilities

  • Operational funds to cover activities, utilities & upkeep and the Director’s compensation

  • ANY amount helps. Support can be one-time, monthly, quarterly, or annually.
