Area-Wide Ladies Retreat 2018:

February 17, 2018 @ 12:00 am EST

The sisters of the Timberlane Church of Christ wish to invite the ladies of your congregation to our Area-Wide Ladies’ Retreat.
The Retreat begins on Friday at 6:00pm with check in, activities, dinner, singing, and the opening presentation by our very special guest. The retreat continues Saturday morning at 8:30am with a light breakfast, prayers, Bible lessons, lunch, singing, and fellowship. We will wrap up on Saturday by 3:00pm. On Sunday morning, we will conclude our Ladies’ Retreat with a special Bible class, immediately following our worship service (worship service begins at 9:15am).

The aim of this Retreat is to draw us closer to each other as sisters in Christ, embrace our position as children of God, and understand our Father’s plan for His precious daughters. Our special guest speaker for the weekend will be Mrs. Becky Blackmon from Waco, Texas. Please see the enclosed biography for more information. We are honored and very fortunate to have her come spend the weekend with us.

We hope you will make plans to attend the retreat in its entirety. Of course, if you are only able to attend part of the retreat, you are certainly welcome and encouraged to stay as long as you are able. To attend, please complete the registration form below:

    About Becky Blackmon

Becky Blackmon was born in Texas, but her family decided to move to New England to do mission work when she was 9 years old. She went, screaming and protesting, but it turned out to be the adventure of a lifetime!

She was raised in Concord, New Hampshire and graduated from Abilene Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught junior high school English and Latin and then met and married Jeff Blackmon from Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Jeff and Becky have now been married for 45 years and they spent most of that time in the Atlanta, Georgia area, as Jeff worked for Delta Airlines. When Jeff retired, they moved to Hewitt, Texas. Jeff and Becky currently worship at the Lake Shore Drive Church of Christ, where Jeff is an elder, and Becky helps in teaching the Ladies Bible Class. They have 2 children, Jennifer and Jeffrey, who are the light of their lives. They both have graduated from college, married and started their own families. Jeff and Becky have been blessed with three grandsons, Will, Max, and Lex, and two granddaughters, Nora and Eva. Their son and family live in Texas’ panhandle, and their daughter and family recently moved to Florida.

Becky was privileged to help her Mother, Lea Fowler, write 3 of her 5 books for Quality Publishing Company. Becky says her mom will always be her inspiration and role model. She encouraged Becky to write a book of her own, and now “The Begging Place” and “A Pearl Seeker” have been published.

Becky says she has been so blessed to speak to her sisters in California, Texas, New England, Florida, New Mexico, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, South Carolina, and West Virginia. She has also spoken at the lectures at Polishing the Pulpit, Tahoe Family Encampment, Red River Encampment, Brown Trail Church of Christ, Freed Hardeman University, the WINGS conference at Harding University and at Ohio Valley University.
