1 Peter

High School Room (High School)

This study will have three phases. First will be the Learn phase. This will be a verse-byverse walkthrough of the letter, identifying key words, phrases, context, themes, and other relevant elements. Second will be the application phase. How do we now put this knowledge into practice? What does this look like in my life in 2025? Finally, the build phase. The study will conclude by looking for additional nuggets and challenges that will help us to build our faith.

This study will take us through the events of and following the Exodus from Egypt. Beginning with the faith and leadership seen in Moses as he obeyed the Lord. We will study the power that God displayed in guiding Israel out of Egypt, and why He deserved full faith and trust. And we will examine the courage that characters like Caleb and Rahab showed when they trusted and obeyed God in the face of tremendous threats.

Discovering Jesus
Throughout the Scriptures

Auditorium (General Adult)

To many Christians, the Biblical Scriptures, especially the Old Testament, can be familiar and poetically beautiful, yet can also be daunting to comprehend and at times seem irrelevant. It is so easy to get lost in the Old Testament laws, history, and genealogies. Like the disciples on the “Road To Emmaus” (Luke 24), we will take a journey through the entire Bible to discover Jesus permeating Scripture from the Creation in Genesis to the final Revelation of Jesus Christ in the New Testament.

Bible Marking and
Keyword Study of John

High School Room (HS & MS)

Studying the Bible can seem like a daunting task. The goal of this class will be to walk through a familiar text that has incredible theological depth and learn how to identify keywords as a helpful skill. Students will learn the key words/ phrases that John uses to convey the good news. They will learn how to mark the keywords too. Having an organized marking system can help with bible memorization, understanding the flow of a story just by looking at the page, engaging in the word, and learning how to go a little bit deeper than just reading. The class takes English Keywords specifically from the 1995 NASB (same translation that all TYM members receive on Promotion Sunday). This translation is not mandatory, however it may be difficult to follow along with a different translation. We have extra Bibles if a student does not have the same translation. Please bring to class highlighters, pens, and other study tools you normally use.

A Study of the Twelve
Disciples

Loft (College & Young Adult)

The original twelve disciples were not the stoic figures often portrayed in works of art and statuary. Instead, we will discover how hopelessly ordinary, human, unremarkable, and flawed these men were, even in their time. Yet, these twelve men started with a small band of followers and, filled with the Spirit of God, transformed the world.
